The Kimono was inspired by the Gergeti Triniti church located on the Kazbegi mountain in Georgia. The Kazbegi mountain as well as the Gergeti Trinini church and its surroundings are hand drawn and knitted on the kimono.
Composition
100% Mongolian cashmere
Mongolian cashmere is a premium material that comes from the goats of Mongolian vast steppe. Every year around March, April, goats naturally shed their finest hair which accumulated during winter to protect them from -40c to -50c degrees and then by the end of September and beginning of October, the hair will start to grow back again to keep them warm again for the next winter to come.
Our herdsmen and herdswomen comb the fine hair to prepare the goats for the warm and hot spring, summer days and sell it to support their life. This fine hair is combed, cleaned and made into the most durable, soft cashmere yarns and turns into the softest, ultra-luxury cashmere product that can be passed generations. As it is 100% natural product, it can dissolve into the earth completely.
Care
Cashmere is a very delicate fiber. Therefore, to keep your cashmere last longer in its beautiful shape and quality:
- Wash it by hand with cashmere shampoo or your own hair shampoo, leave it to soak, rinse it and then wring it out, lay it out flat to dry, that way it keeps its shape.
- You can also wash this garment in the washing machine if your washing machine has cashmere and knitted product wash setting or wash it without exceeding 30°C (86°F – usually the cold wash setting) and keeping the spin cycle low.
- Or if you have dry cleaning which cleans cashmere products, even better.
- As it is 100% natural product, it might roll and make bubbles at the beginning. We recommend you use cashmere comb to clean them out. After couple of comb cleaning, the bubbles naturally go away.
One last thing: don’t overdo it with detergent or fabric softener, there’s no need.
Keep the garment clean and folded in a cool, dry place
Production
Our production is entirely in Mongolia. We work with local artisans who dedicated their entire life making cashmere fabrics with the know-how from their nomadic parents and grandparents. Our workshops are run by female owned small workshops working hard to support their families. In every step of the way we try to avoid mass production which can be extremely damaging for our planet. Therefore, we keep our quantity small, and only few pieces are produced at a time and many steps are carries out manually. We are extremely happy all these hard work, dedication and love translated into your beautiful cashmere sweater, cardigans, dresses, hats etc and makes you and your special one happy to wear it long time with our stamp on it.
